IPAK unveils identity of it’s sustainability initiatives “Tajdid”

“Tajdid” is an Urdu/Arabic word which means “Renew”.Tajdid is further reinforced with a graphical presentation of a set of actions required now and going forward, to make our and the future of our generations to come, sustainable.
The concept of Tajdid revolves around collaborations internally and externally with our vendors, 17 UNSDG’s, allied partners, clients, brand owners, consumers, institutions, Climate challenges, academies and governmental bodies to bring sustainability in our every action in daily life.
IPAK had acquired ISSC+ certification in July 2023 at its BOPP and CPP films manufacturing divisions.
Our BOPP, BOPET plants, and metallizing units are partially powered by an 8 MW solar energy system, generating around 63,500 kWh, which directly supports SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action) by reducing reliance on non-renewable energy. This shift avoided 25 tCO₂ emissions, contributing to our goal of lowering carbon footprints, while also reducing diesel and natural gas consumption by 2,455 gallons and 500,000 cubic feet, respectively. Additionally, our waste heat recovery system avoided 154 tCO₂, bringing total emissions down from 1,274 tCO₂ to 1,120 tCO₂, a significant step toward mitigating climate change.
IPAK also announces the brand names of its sustainable product range;
Zeest – films produced from recycled resin; PCR, PIR, bioPP based and
Tarmim – highly engineered films aimed to improve recyclability of packaging material based on mono material solutions.
