Exploring circularity to inform contemporary South African design process

Time: 13h30 – 14h00

Sustainability without sacrificing aesthetics.  For many years the assumption in packaging design was that minimalist aesthetics equalled sustainability. While it’s true that simpler designs often use fewer resources, sustainability is not limited to a stripped-back look. Increasingly, brands are rethinking their packaging strategies to align with environmental goals while maintaining strong visual identities.

Mo will unpack the following:

  • Sustainable packaging design trends 2025: What’s next for brands, print providers and designers.
  • Multimodal packaging design: How packaging companies, designers and brands can leverage circular economy principles to accelerate their market position.

3. Regenerative packaging design – A case study on how to leverage circularity in your business.
