Dr Amrhein’s presentation focuses on the development and application of advanced PET materials tailored for the unique demands of wine and cosmetic packaging.

Patrick started his career after obtaining his doctorate in chemistry (Mainz; Toronto) as Head of Polymer R&D lab at BASF; numerous further positions at BASF included project manager for Organic Electronics (OLED; ePaper; printed electronics); Business Manager for Reforming catalysts and absorbents for the fuel cell technology (hydrogen economy), head of business for standard and specialty alcoholates for the biodiesel production; Patrick then joined Honeywell in 2013 as strategic marketing director for fluorinated products (refrigerants; foam blowing agents (XPS; PU), aerosols and solvents) and later on in addition as business director for high growth regions (MEA; Turkey; Russia; India); Patrick then joined A-gas as commercial strategy director and managing director with focus on recycling of fluorinated refrigerant gases; In 2020 Patrick joined BASF Nunhems as managing director creating an excellence center for corn salad and building an organic competence center for organic seeds. In 2021 Patrick was called to join Indorama Ventures Polymers as managing director in the specialty PET area.
